Richard Mortensen (23 October 1910 – 6 January 1993) was a renowned Danish painter and printmaker, born on October 23, 1910, in Copenhagen, Denmark. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Art and developed an abstract art style influenced by Wassily Kandinsky. Mortensen was a key figure in the Danish art scene, co-founding the "Linien" school of abstract painters and later becoming associated with the Galerie Denise René in Paris. His later works like this silkscreen are concrete works of art characterised by large, clear, bright colour surfaces.
